F 16 Tqs Driver
I just recieved a new gaming machine with WIN 7. I quickly found that I need an adapter to connect my Thrustmaster 15-pin gaming plug to a USB port on the new machine. I am worried that there is going to be a real headache trying to get all my Thrustmaster equipment set-up under Windows 7. Do any of you have the F22 Pro, F-16 TQS, and Elite rudder perdals working under WIN7? If so, is there a simple way to get this gear installed and working?
Do you have to use XP compatibility mode, or does it run directly under WIN 7? It shouldn't do, as Windows ought to be smart enough to deconflict the various DMA/IO ranges, unless they are preset in the BIOS or on jumpers on the card (which is unlikely). One thing that may be an issue is that of drivers for gameport joysticks - I was under the impression that MS/Win7 no longer supported those; not having W7 I can't say anything else, and I might be barking up the wrong tree. If there are issues, you might want to see if you can convert it to USB.
I've bodged something similar with a Suncom SFS stick and throttle setup. This requires a little time, money and soldering skills though. - 01/08/10 01:08 AM Re: Thrustmaster F-22 Pro, F-16 TQS, & Elite Rudder Pedals With WIN7 [] Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 60 Junior Member Junior Member Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 60. I may be able to get this to work in XP Compatibility mode in WIN 7. All this stuff worked great on my old machine that was running XP Pro. Hate to discard these controls - they cost about $450 many years ago when I bought them. Looks like the new CH controllers are all set up to run smoothly with WIN7.
Hi everybody, I've been looking back and forth through this forum, not finding specifically what I need. So, here it goes: I recently bought the TM F-16 FCLS and TQS.
Hate to spend money on new controllers when these Thrustmasters are not broken, but potentially incompatible with the newer hardware and software in the new computer. I just recieved a response from Thrustmaster technical support. Here is what they said about there prodcut support for Windows 7: Dear Mr. Bob Ward, Thank you for your request.
In order to resolve the issue you have encountered with your F22 Pro, please refer to our response herewith: Please accept our apologies for the late answer! Nappy Roots Humdinger Zip. Currently, Thrustmaster does not offer any drivers for this model that support Windows 7. All relevant information regarding the availability of these drivers will be made public via our FAQs and/or the drivers download page as soon as it becomes available. Technical Support cannot provide any information or insight on driver availability that is not already posted publicly on this website.
This controller is fully compatible with the Flight Control System drivers already included in your version of Windows.(Windows XP and possibly Vista) To install your controller, press the ADD button from the Game Controller windows, and select Thrustmaster Flight Control System from the list of available drivers. However we cannot fully guarantee that it will work on Windows 7. We thank you for your understanding! This is too bad.
I invested about $450 in my stick, throttle, and rudder pedals (about 10-years ago). They still work fine, just not with WIN 7. So I guess my only option is to retire these to storage and buy something new that works with WIN 7. It is very discouraging that hardware manufacturers cannot devise some type of patch that would allow their products to be compatible with new operating systems - I would not think that that would be that difficult a task. Bob, It's not that simple. You have a high-end, programmable controller. However, it uses a gameport connection, which is quite outdated. Windows XP, Vista, and 7 do not support two-way communication through a gameport (it's flagged as some sort of security risk). That means that you cannot program your controllers in any of these operating systems. So some of the major value of these devices is lost. This is outside of Thrustmaster's control, which is most likely they have neglected to write a drive for Win7.
